Hi, I'm Alexis
I am a Los Angeles-based designer, originally from St. Louis, Missouri, where my love for art, fashion, and design first began. I moved to Los Angeles after graduating high school in 2013 to attend FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising), where I received my Associate of Arts degree in Visual Communication and my Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design.
While attending school, I worked in retail at the licensing powerhouse Junk Food Clothing Company. This was my first exposure to licensed products, consumer behavior around those products, and how licensed merchandise performs at retail. Later in my education, I began a design internship at Recycled Karma Brands, a smaller company with a similar focus. After graduating, I continued working with RKB, where I gained even more experience in both the licensing and fashion industries.
Because RKB was a small company, I had the opportunity to be involved in nearly every aspect of the business. From managing a design team and traveling to our factories in Mexico to working directly with licensors, the experience gave me a perspective on the industry that I wouldn’t have gotten at a larger company.
After several years at RKB, I found myself missing the creative side of the work and decided to become self-employed. I continued designing for RKB while expanding my own clientele and exploring new creative opportunities. Today, my work has expanded into more video-based projects, while my background in licensing, fashion, and graphic design continues to influence the way I approach each project.
